CREATES STUDY ABROAD PICTURE GALLERIES

IIEPassport.org, an online study abroad directory managed by the Institute of International Education and Educational Directories Unlimited, Inc., has implemented a feature allowing schools to post pictures of their programs. This feature eases the search process for prospective study abroad students.
When a student searches the online database at http://www.iiepassport.org/, he or she is no longer limited to reading text that describes a program. The student can see actual pictures of what the country is like and what the program has to offer. IIEPassport.org hopes that this will make a student's program choice easier and less stressful, since there are visuals factoring into the decision.
"We are the only study abroad directory that offers such a feature," says Lori Faunce, manager of IIEPassport.org. "This enhancement to our study abroad search is an ideal vehicle for programs to highlight the different excursions they offer, reveal some of their benefits such as premier housing and visually brand their programs. These picture galleries also allow a student to really get a feel for what he or she can expect from a particular program."
The IIEPassport team believes this is a great way for a program to differentiate itself from the hundreds of others that may be offering a similar experience in a country. Faunce says, "If one program just lists its courses, and another shows pictures of some of the amazing things its previous students have done, the program with the pictures is definitely going to get more attention."
