StudyAbroad.com Celebrates Cultural Diversity with InternationalEducationWeek.com

Featuring contest that will send a student to Salzburg, Austria

CHESTER, PA, November 5, 2002 -

StudyAbroad.com, (www.studyabroad.com), and the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS) will help celebrate International Education Week (November 12 to 16, 2002) through the informational Web site, www.InternationalEducationWeek.com. InternationalEducationWeek.com features cultural events, destination information, and a comprehensive list of resources, for both students and international advocates. In addition, one lucky student will spend four weeks in Salzburg, Austria as the grand prize winner in StudyAbroad.com's and AIFS's International Education Week Trivia Contest.

StudyAbroad.com, the number-one online resource for international education information, and AIFS have created InternationalEducationWeek.com as a public service to support the field of international education. International Education Week has become an annual event that provides a global forum for promoting and celebrating the benefits of international education. StudyAbroad.com and AIFS, the world's largest private international student facilitator, believe strongly that peace and prosperity come through the sharing of cultures, a central theme of International Education Week.

Visitors to InternationalEducationWeek.com will have the opportunity to enter a trivia contest, in which a grand prize winner will receive an all expenses paid four-week academic program in Salzburg, Austria, courtesy of AIFS. The winner will receive round trip airfare, housing, meals and full tuition at the University of Salzburg, located in one of the most scenic regions of Europe. The contest will be open from November 1 through November 22, 2002, with the grand prize winner to be announced on Monday, November 25th. Students may enter this contest by completing a 12-question quiz, testing their knowledge of different countries and cultures. Students can research the answers to these trivia question on the StudyAbroad.com Web site.

In addition, visitors to InternationalEducationWeek.com will be encouraged to take a thought-provoking poll, featuring questions about studying abroad. The questions will address the reasons why students wish to spend time studying in a foreign country, and will cover the academic, professional, humanitarian, cultural and social aspects of the experience. There will be a different multiple-choice question featured each day during International Education Week.

"Now, more than ever, the young people of the world can benefit from a better understanding of other nations and cultures," says Mark Shay, CEO of Educational Directories Unlimited, Inc. "With InternationalEducationWeek.com, we have built a single resource for higher education where anyone can learn about multicultural events on college campuses nationwide and find resources to support the noble endeavor of education abroad."

Thanks to the generosity of InternationalEducationWeek.com's co-sponsor AIFS; a student who might otherwise not have the financial means to study abroad will now have the opportunity.

"Salzburg, Austria is a beautiful place to study and absorb the local culture, and it is one of our most popular study abroad destinations," said Bill Gertz, executive vice president, AIFS. "We are happy to support and celebrate International Education Week by offering this wonderful experience to a student."
