StudyAbroad.com Sweepstakes Will Send a Student to the French Riviera

Contest Shines Spotlight on Growth of International Study Programs

CHESTER, PA, October 2, 2002 -

One lucky student will spend two weeks immersed in French culture on the world-renowned French Riviera next summer as the grand prizewinner in the seventh annual StudyAbroad.com Fall Sweepstakes. The sweepstakes is sponsored by Azurlingua, Truman State University, and iStudentFares.com.

StudyAbroad.com (www.studyabroad.com), a Web site of Educational Directories Unlimited Inc. of Chester, Pa, is the number-one online resource for international education information. The sweepstakes highlights the steady growth of StudyAbroad.com, as well as the continued advancement of the international studies industry.

The grand prize includes 14 days of intensive language study at Azurlingua, a language school located in the city of Nice. The winner will also receive full room and board for the two weeks; $800 in airfare, courtesy of iStudentfares.com and Travelosophy, Inc.; and tuition for three credits at Truman State University, which offers the Azurlingua program as part of its wide range of study abroad programs.

Five second prize winners will receive a $230 (U.S.) scholarship that can be applied to a study program at Azurlingua.

"Students often say that cost is the major limiting factor to studying abroad," says Mark Shay, CEO of Educational Directories Unlimited. "This sweepstakes is our way of giving back to students, to open the opportunity to study abroad to everyone, regardless of their financial situation."

Last year's StudyAbroad.com Fall Sweepstakes winner, Tina Kasperek of Buffalo, NY, calls winning the contest "a dream come true." She won a semester at the University of North London in London, England.

She recalls, "I was searching on the Web for study abroad programs and came across the StudyAbroad.com site. I couldn't believe how comprehensive it was, and I decided to enter the contest. I'm glad I did!"

Located on the Cote d'Azur, the celebrated French Riviera, the town of Nice is known for its charm, cultural heritage and relaxed way of life. The winner will enjoy the opportunity of a complete immersion in the French language and culture. After class, they will have the chance to practice what they have learned as they tour one of the most beautiful cities in southern Europe. They will also be able to spend time relaxing on the area's world famous beaches.

"The Azurlingua program is one of our most popular study abroad offerings," says Patrick Lecaque, Truman State University. "Studying French language and culture in a magnificent Mediterranean city like Nice is a memorable and enriching experience."

"Our program focuses on conversational French and students in our program make considerable gains in fluency and confidence," says Jean Luc, Azurlingua. "They use their new skills daily as they take in the sights and sounds of Nice and the surrounding region."

"Studying abroad can be a life-changing experience," says Shay. "Our sweepstakes is an event we always enjoy, not only because it helps make students aware of the comprehensive information about studying abroad at StudyAbroad.com, but because of the opportunities it presents to our winner."

The grand prizewinner will be randomly selected and announced on December 15, 2002. Students can enter to win online and learn more about the sweepstakes by going to www.studyabroad.com/sweepsfrance from October 1, 2002 through December 14, 2002.
