Educational Directories Unlimited, Inc. Gives High School Students Opportunity to Develop "Real World" Business Expertise

Association with "Let's Get Real" Academic Competition Draws on Students' Abilities to Solve Real-Life Business Challenges

CHESTER, PA, November 29, 2001 -

Educational Directories Unlimited (EDU), an education technology company that produces computer-based college recruiting tools that enable students to quickly and efficiently find educational opportunities, today announced that it has enlisted Let's Get Real (www.lgreal.org), a nonprofit organization and competition for teams of students to gain experience working on real business problems to provide high school students with opportunities to devise real-world business solutions facing EDU. The Let's Get Real academic competition challenges students to solve problems faced by specific businesses and offers the chance for their ideas to be applied by the sponsoring company.

"The Let's Get Real competition seeks to provide all students with opportunities to learn how businesses operate through innovative and creative educational activities. In working to establish non-traditional learning programs we are addressing student transition from the four walls of the classroom-based academics to understanding the realities of corporate America," says Dr. Dan G. Holt, Ph.D., founder and president of Let's Get Real. "In addition, we are putting corporate America in touch with an untapped resource for solving problems with which they are face every day."

EDU (www.edudirectories.com) has provided the Let's Get Real competitors with two business challenges facing the company. Challenge #1 is to define the ideal components that comprise a post-secondary education experience for U.S. students. Students are asked to discuss both traditional and non-traditional components, and to explain why each would be ideal and predict the likelihood of mainstream acceptance. Challenge #2 is to outline and describe effective ways for EDU to differentiate the U.S. and non-U.S. markets and identify, analyze and discover ways in which to serve the needs of each market.

All students from grades six through twelve are eligible to participate in Let's Get Real. Companies who have provided student challenges include Hershey Foods Corporation and PPL Corporation. The students work in teams of two to six, aided by an adult coordinator. Entries, in the form of written reports of no longer than 10 pages, must be postmarked by January 18, 2002. Finalist teams will be notified by February 22, 2002.

"Let's Get Real helps kids gain critical business thinking skills while they're still in middle and high school," says Mark Shay, president and CEO of Educational Directories Unlimited. "This is the second year we've been involved with Let's Get Real, and we are greatly impressed with the ideas and abilities of these motivated, business-minded students."
