EDU Makes Philadelphia 100 List of Fastest-Growing Companies For a Second Consecutive Year
New partnerships, strategic alliances and soaring Web site traffic help Chester firm's revenue grew 153 percent over the last year

The Philadelphia 100 is an annual ranking of the fastest-growing privately owned businesses in the region sponsored by the Wharton Small Business Development Center.
EDU's (www.edudirectories.com) revenue has risen from $1.5 million in 2000 to an estimated $2.3 million in 2001, an increase of 153 percent. EDU has seen traffic on its Web sites increase from 7.5 million unique visitors in 2000 to an estimated 11.5 million in 2001. The company has more than tripled its number of employees in the past two years. In addition, EDU has developed major alliances and partnerships with Peterson's, the nation's leading provider of educational content; Access Group, a nonprofit which provides access to education through affordable financing and related services; and the Institute of International Education (IIE), the world's leading educational exchange and training organization. In addition, EDU has also been a long time member and supporter of the Council of Graduate Schools, the largest national association organized specifically to represent the interests of graduate education; and the Association of International Educators (NAFSA), which sets standards of good practice and provides professional education and training for programs and services related to international education.
EDU, which provides educational related information via technology driven services, connects students with college-level academic programs through a series of online directories that offer in-depth and current information on each institution's offerings. The company plans to continue to add new college-oriented technology products over the coming year.
