StudyAbroad.com Offers Lesson Plans for High School Teachers on Study Abroad
Interactive "StudyAbroad.com Lesson Plans" will help educators promote world learning, diversity studies, foreign language appreciation and the benefits of studying abroad
CHESTER, PA, November 5, 2001 -
StudyAbroad.com (www.studyabroad.com) is now offering free interactive lesson plans on its Web site. The lesson plans can be integrated into curriculums of high school teachers of social studies, foreign language, geography and other culture-related programs. All of the lesson plans were developed to help encourage students' interest in exploring different countries and cultures online. Resources for the lesson plan's assignments are provided on the StudyAbroad.com Web site.
At StudyAbroad.com students can find information about educational opportunities around the world, the different cultures they will encounter, the geography of the land they want to visit, and even its weather climate and exchange rates. For example, in the "A Place to Study Abroad" lesson plan, students select a study abroad destination, research that country and city, and create a destination guide. In Italian Language Course, they explore the possibility of accepting an internship in Italy, and determine how and where they can quickly learn the Italian language and culture. In Costa Rica, students are assigned to research learning opportunities on the island, and research Costa Rican Culture. Other Lesson Plans include: French Language Courses and Study Abroad Essentials and more are being added each week.
Each of the lesson plans covers a different topic, and can be customized to fit the needs of individual classrooms. For teachers with a specific need or interest, StudyAbroad.com will create a customized lesson plan free of charge, or teachers can post their own lesson plans to the Web site.
The Lesson Plans can be found at http://www.studyabroad.com/lesson/. All Studyabroad.com Lesson Plans are available in a downloadable Portable Document Format (PDF) as well.
