Studyabroad.com Announces Cadiz, Spain Sweepstakes Winner
Chester, PA, January 18, 2001 -
Studyabroad.com, an online service of Educational Directories Unlimited, has announced their sixth annual Studyabroad.com Back-To-School sweepstakes winner. Emily Gomez of California State University's Stanislaus campus was awarded the grand prize of a five and a half-week study program in Cadiz, Spain.
The prize includes a study program at the University of Cadiz, round trip airfare, room and board with a host family, organized excursions, on-site orientation, student services and an International Student Identity Card.
The Sweepstakes is sponsored by Studyabroad.com, API (Academic Programs International) and Council Travel. The program at the University of Cadiz, room and board with a host family and other student services are courtesy of API, an international education organization. Airfare from the continental United States and the International Student Identity Card are both courtesy of Council Travel, a company offering student travel services. Ten second prize winners have received a Studyabroad.com T-shirt and twenty-five third place winners have received a Studyabroad.com mouse pad.
The sweepstakes began in September 2000 and over a three-month period a total of 4,573 students entered. "This year's sweepstakes was definitely a success. More students entered this year than all previous years," says Mark Landon, founder of Studyabroad.com, "We are proud to be able to change students' lives and expand their cultural knowledge through these sweepstakes."
Grand prize winner, Emily Gomez, is very excited about the opportunity to expand her horizons. "I am so excited. I've never won anything before," said Gomez, "This will definitely help my academic career and help me learn Spanish!"
