UCEA, EDU to Launch Online Resource for Continuing Higher Education Students

CHESTER, PA, September 12, 2005 -

The University Continuing Education Association (UCEA) and Educational Directories Unlimited (EDU) have joined together to create a new online resource for continuing higher education students.

UCEAdirectory.org offers a comprehensive listing of premier universities and colleges and their continuing education programs - whether online, face-to-face, or a combination of the two - all on one website. Potential students will be able to search the website by subject matter, location, and mode of instruction (online or classroom), and easily identify the best options for meeting their academic needs.

UCEAdirectory.org will be limited to those higher education institutions that are fully accredited and members of UCEA. According to Roger Whitaker, UCEA President and Dean of the College of Professional Studies at The George Washington University, "This partnership between UCEA - representing over 430 accredited colleges and universities - and EDU - a leading provider of education directories online - presents a unique opportunity for our members to benefit from being a part of this important resource for adult learners."

Mark Shay, president and CEO of EDU, seconded Whitaker's enthusiasm, adding, "We are honored and excited to be working with UCEA on this extensive new directory. We think it will be extremely beneficial to the continuing education community and will further our dedication to preserving the integrity of higher education as a whole."

EDU produces a number of computer-based services created to link prospective students with education providers, and has been in the forefront of educational marketing since its inception ten years ago. The company also publishes GradSchools.com, the leading online directory for graduate programs, and StudyAbroad.com, the major online resource for study abroad programs. An estimated 20 million people will use an EDU directory during 2005.

Founded in 1915, UCEA promotes excellence in continuing higher education and works to increase awareness of the importance of lifelong learning. Its member institutions, which include public and private accredited colleges and universities and non-profit organizations with a significant commitment to continuing higher education, are committed to extending opportunities to the expanding population of non-traditional students seeking continuous learning.

Users of UCEAdirectory.org will be able to access the website and its database at no charge. Those institutions included on the website will have the opportunity to purchase additional advertising on the website as a way to increase their visibility to website users.
