STUDYABROAD.COM SENDS DESERVING ADVISOR TO STUDY ABROAD CONFERENCE

CHESTER, PA, May 16, 2005 -

StudyAbroad.com, an online directory of study abroad programs, has awarded study abroad advisor Alexis Chaconis $500 toward attending the annual NAFSA conference for filling out a survey aimed at improving StudyAbroad.com.

In an attempt to better the study abroad field, StudyAbroad.com created an advisor survey to provide feedback and recommend upgrades. Everyone who took the survey was placed in a running for the $500.

Alexis Chaconis, the Associate Director of Admissions and International Student Advisor at New York City College of Technology, was the winner. A twenty-year veteran with the NAFSA organization, Chaconis will use her money for the plane ticket to Seattle, where this year's conference is being held.

"It's great," Chaconis said. "StudyAbroad.com is an extremely helpful resource for those in the study abroad field. By taking the survey I was able to tell them where they could use improvements to make their site even better, and winning the reward is an extra blessing. It will really help with this year's expenses."

John Duncan, manager of StudyAbroad.com, is glad to help. "We feel fortunate that we could make it easier for someone to attend NAFSA," he said. "It is a great event that all advisors should get a chance to attend. We hope as we continue to progress it becomes possible for us to help more and more people, but this is a great start, and Alexis is very deserving of the opportunity."

StudyAbroad.com is celebrating its tenth anniversary at NAFSA this year. It is also the tenth consecutive year they have attended the event.
